Welcome to the South Shields Chess Club Website. This is a relatively new site and is currently a work-in-progress.
Please check back regularly for competition updates, game summaries and meeting information. Our ambition is to get more people in South Shields and the local area involved in the great sport of chess.
A recent resurgence in interest has led to the club fielding four teams , currently one in each of the Northumberland Chess Association leagues ,and one the Durham Association league .
We offer both competitive and social opportunities to play chess .
